Luisa Tora

• Fiji Women’s Rights Movement board member (2003-2009)
• Feminist artist and writer
• LGBTQI Activist
Luisa’s spirit of fun and infectious irreverence belie the complex analysis that informs her feminist activism. Her advocacy is often literally colourful, as she has long used her art and literary talent for her activism. During her time as FWRM’S board member and young women’s working group member, Luisa encouraged young women and other feminists to express their advocacy through the creative arts. In 2008, she co-curated Vasu: Pacific Women of Power exhibition nd co-edited the accompanying publication. Luisa’s analysis has helped inform a more nuanced approach to the intersections between sexuality, gender and health in the Movement’s work.
